Meet Dr. Frazier

Dr FrazierDr. Karla Frazier grew up in Jackson, Mississippi. Before moving to Austin, she was a captain in the United States Air Force, practicing dentistry at Beale Air Force Base in California. Highly educated, Dr. Frazier received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Jackson State University in 1992 and obtained her Dental Medicine Doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1996. She has also completed additional specialty training in the Hiossen Implant System, Cerec CAD-CAM technology, Er, Cr: YSGG Laser technology for use of the Biolase Waterlase and Epic Diode Lasers, Nitrous Oxide Administration, Invisalign Orthodontic therapy, Zoom! Whitening, and the All-On-4 implant supported fixed denture restoration.

In 1999, Dr. Frazier moved to Austin, where she entered private practice as an associate. Since 2001, she has been a sole practitioner in her own dental practice. She used her knowledge of dentistry as an investigator for the State of Texas Investigator General's Office, investigating Dental Medicaid fraud. Dr. Frazier co-founded and co-owned The Professional Institute of Dental Assisting, which provided professional training and opportunities for adults who wish to have a career in dental assisting. Dr. Frazier is also the former official dentist of the NBA D-League Austin Toros (now Austin Spurs) and the Connally High School Athletics Department.

An esteemed member of her professional community, Dr. Frazier maintains memberships in or is a past member of many organizations, including the:

  • World Clinical Laser Institute

To give back to her local community, Dr. Frazier frequently speaks to children in schools about the dental profession and dental health. She also mentors high school, UT pre-dental students as well as young professionals.

In her spare time, Dr. Frazier enjoys traveling, music, helping others fulfill their personal and professional goals, spending time with family and friends, and focusing on having a fun, low-stress life.

Dr. Frazier's philosophy professionally and personally follows the "golden rule": to treat others the way you would want to be treated.
